PENELITIAN PENDAHULUAN PERKEMBANGAN GAMET DAN FEKUNDITAS IKAN BELANAK (LIZA TADE FORSK) DI PERAIRAN PULAU BAAI BENGKULU

Abstract

Observations of gametogenesis and fecundity of Liza tade Forsk was conducted to find out spawning season in the collected sample in Baai Island waters Bengkulu from the 1^st to 3^rd week of October 2004. Gametogenesis among stages of L. tade Forsk was not sincronous, and development of testis was not so clear compared to development of oosit. Spawning of this species was predicted occur more than once period between the 4^th week of October to the 1^st week of November, however tend partially, because distribution of oosit sizes within ovaries were not significant difference. Fecundity was more affected by total body length than body weight (Thamrin^1,2, F. Azrianto² dan Sukendi²)
